Attendance & Makeup Class Policy

Attendance Expectations

Regular attendance is essential for steady progress in Hindustani Classical Music training. Students are encouraged to:
  • Attend all scheduled classes.
  • Join sessions 5–10 minutes before class begins.
  • Keep instruments/electronic instruments, notebooks, and learning materials ready.

Individual Classes

  • Rescheduling requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Missed classes without prior notice may be treated as attended.
  • Makeup classes are subject to teacher availability.
Emergency Rescheduling
In genuine emergency situations (such as medical emergencies, family emergencies, or unavoidable technical failures), students may request rescheduling even with short notice.
  • Emergency requests will be considered on a case-bycase basis.
  • Supporting explanation or proof may be requested in some cases.
  • Approval of emergency rescheduling is at the discretion of Swaramadhura Academy and subject to teacher availability.
  • Repeated emergency cancellations may not be accommodated.

Group Classes

  • Group classes follow a fixed schedule.
  • Missed group classes generally cannot be rescheduled individually.
  • Students may receive recordings or notes where available.

Technical Difficulties

Students are responsible for maintaining:
  • Reliable internet connectivity
  • Appropriate devices for online learning
Technical issues on the student’s side do not automatically qualify for class replacement.

Extended Leave

Students planning a prolonged absence should notify the Academy in advance.
Batch placement upon return is subject to availability.

Examinations & Performances

Students participating in:
  • Recitals
  • Workshops
  • Assessments
  • Certification Programs
are expected to attend rehearsals, evaluations, and scheduled performance activities.
